Leeds have been linked with several players this month but the lack of progress for the likes of Che Adams and Ian Poveda has left fans feeling a little disheartened.
Graham Smyth’s latest update suggesting the club has turned its attention to youngster Emil Bohinen of Norweigan side Stabæk, has done very little to change that mindset, and instead just added fuel to the fire.
With just over a week remaining until the close of the transfer window some supporters are understandably growing desperate for new faces while aiming criticism at the club.
To make matters worse the Whites’ performances and results have tailed off in recent weeks to leave them just four points ahead of third-place Fulham, and if there are no reinforcements their promotion bid will be under a cloud of doubt.
Losing Jack Clarke and Eddie Nketiah was a setback but one that could have been overcome with new additions quite easily since they made a combined total of two league starts, but that simply hasn’t come to fruition.
Virtually impossible: Can you name the year all of these Leeds flops arrived at Elland Road?
Bohinen is similar to the pair in that he is young and unproven at the top level, with 49 professional appearances in Norway to his name, and therefore it is a risk to bring him in now.
It also suggests the club may not have the resources to bring in a marquee name like Adams or Andre Gray, and that is likely going to create even more disgruntled members of the fanbase.
Even a young player in Poveda arriving is seemingly growing more unlikely as he has been in contact with foreign clubs, and supporters have voiced their concerns with the board and the lack of investment being made.
Leeds fans have also been discussing a previous signing and whether he has proved himself in a Leeds shirt yet.
