Everton fans are heaping praise on Jordan Pickford, after their young stopper was voted as the club’s player of the year on Tuesday night.
Jordan Pickford cleaned up at Everton’s awards dinner on Tuesday night, grabbing both the players’ player and the overall player of the year award.
While the glass half empty fans are cursing the fact that a goalkeeper has been the player of the year, most fans are delighted for the former Sunderland man, the sole success story of last summer’s spending spree.
The Toffees splashed out on several players with the hopes of breaking into the top six, but injuries to the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and the near total disappearance of the likes of Davy Klaassen and Nikola Vlasic have drawn plenty of criticism.

Michael Keane has certainly improved in recent months, but only really Pickford can be considered a success from last summer’s haul.
The 24 year-old is set to start for England at this summer’s World Cup, and deservedly so after a mightily impressive first season at Goodison.
