Nunez has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism over the last three years since his move to Liverpool from Benfica, as the striker has been through a number of dry periods. His inconsistent showings have also called his future into question. However, both Jurgen Klopp, previously, and now Arne Slot have backed the Uruguayan to do well with the Merseyside club.

Nunez has made 139 appearances with Liverpool and has bagged 66 goal contributions, including 40 goals, and this season has seen him bag just five strikes as Liverpool cruised to their 20th Premier League title. The 25-year-old has now taken shots at his critics as he basks in the glory of becoming a league champion.
