Leeds United are interested in signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson according to the Mirror.
What’s the story?
England Under-21 goalkeeper Henderson impressed on loan at Shrewsbury Town last season and he is now attracting interest from a host of clubs.
The Mirror report that the 6ft3 shot-stopper was due to leave Manchester United this summer as his contract had expired, but he has now verbally agreed to a two-year extension and will be loaned out next season.
Leeds are one of the clubs interested but Bristol City, Aston Villa, Sheffield United and Norwich are also in the running for the talented youngster, according to the report.
Is he any good?
The competition for his signature and the fact that Jose Mourinho wants to keep him at United show that Henderson is a very talented young ‘keeper.
The 21-year-old reached the play-off final and the final of Checkatrade Trophy with the Shrews and was unsuccessful in both instances, but was named as the goalkeeper in the EFL League One Team of the Year.
With Leeds’ own young goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell wanted by Premier League clubs, Leeds would be wise to look at Henderson, although they should really be looking to tie someone down long-term.
