Monterrey FC has been forced to relocate their CONCACAF Champions Cup last 16 second leg against Vancouver Whitecaps due to a scheduling conflict with Shakira's world tour. The match, originally set to take place at BBVA Stadium on March 12, will now be held at Estadio Corona in Torreon, home of Liga MX side Santos Laguna. Reports indicated that the Liga MX side considered pushing the game but that option was scrapped after they found a replacement.

Monterrey are heavy favorites for their tie against the MLS side. In addition, the Liga MX side has a strong history in the Champions Cup, having won the tournament five times — the last win coming in 2021.

Vancouver doesn't have the same level of history as Monterrey in the Champions Cup. The farthest the team has gone in the tournament was in the 2016-17 season, where the club reached the tournament's semifinal.

After that, the Whitecaps host Monterrey at the BC Place on March 6 and then welcome CF Montreal in the MLS before facing Monterrey in the second leg of their last 16 tie.
