You’d be hard pushed to find a better loan signing than Aleksandar Mitrovic at Fulham, but Grabban is certainly making it close.
The Bournemouth striker buried two goals in Villa’s 4-0 win over Ipswich, which takes his tally to seven since the January move.
Grabban is now tied with Matej Vydra and Bobby Reid to lead the Championship with 19 goals, as the 30 year-old grabbed 12 with Sunderland in the first half of the season.
The veteran striker has filled the boots of Jonathan Kodjia during the big man’s injury layoff, and Steve Bruce’s side are now just four points behind Cardiff.
Automatic promotion still looks unlikely for the Villains, but Grabban could bring the firepower they need to get through the playoffs.
